24 weeks

Since Jon has been keeping you all updated with his latest household projects, I thought it was about time to update you on MY latest project. "Project: Betababy". I am now rounding the bend to 24 weeks pregnant, meaning that we’re now beyond the halfway point. As you may remember from my first pregnancy, I had a lot of issues with morning-sickness, along with some issues with one of my kidneys. However, without boring you with my complete medical history I’ll just say that my body doesn’t handle pregnancy very well. It seems like any quark that may come with being pregnant, comes my way. My latest adventure has been dealing with some less-than-pleasant sciatica. But if this is the worst I have to deal with for the duration, I’ll take it. (knocking on wood)
Betababy, or as Charlie lovingly refers to her ‘baby sushi’, is doing great. Measuring right on for our dates and partying up a storm. I can reliably count on at least an hour of full-on kicks and spins as I try to fall asleep each night. We have now reached the point where we can actually watch my belly ripple as she moves and grooves in there. Charlie seems to have taken to the idea of having a little sister; or at least one that lives in his mother’s tummy. He often tries to get her to come out by pinching at my belly button (if it were only that easy kid). We’ll see how he reacts when she is actually here, but for now he’s very sweet and often gives the baby lots of hugs, kisses…and the occasional ‘raspberry’.

You look fabulous! and sciatica is such a horrible ailment. I’m praying it won’t hit me this time. Here’s hoping it doesn’t last too long for you.

Ah, you look great! And aren’t you glad the weather has been so fabulous (today excluded, boo) that you can wear flowy dresses all the time, like the one in your picture? I’m sort of regretting the timing of my pregnancy - I’ll be the biggest in December when it’s the crappiest/coldest. This means I’ll be rocking muumuus and leggings, I can feel it. HAWT.

Halfway there- WHOO HOO! I had lousy pregnancies, too. Hang in there and hope the sciatica calms down soon! At least you look great.

My nephew would say how much he loved his baby sister when she was inside the belly. My sister-in-law told him she was going to come out soon. His reaction was “NOOOOOOO!”
Hope the sciatica disappears stat!!
Looking fab girl!!

My body doesn’t handle pregnancy very well, either. If (when!) we meet someday, we can exchange stories.
Now I’m counting my fingers to figure out when you’re due. It’s not working very well.
20 weeks + is the greatest, though. I loved seeing the babies move around like JiffyTime popcorn.
Keep up the good work!

Hang in there with the sciatica issues. I had the same thing with Jack and then again this time. But it seemed to only give me problems for a little stretch (month??) during the second trimester. Hopefully it will ease up for you too!
So, how’s betababy’s nursery coming? Can’t wait to see what you decide on. I’m still working on ours… waiting for some fall stuff to come out

You are beyond adorable! Thanks for the (long-awaited) update and photo. Hope the sciatica smartens up and you breeze on through the third trimester.

You look great! My how time flies… Sorry about the nasty sciatica, my chiropractor has the most awesome masseuse (sp?) and I don’t think I would have survived this pregnancy without her
Pamper yourself!
Still waiting on this end but we’ll keep you posted…
